    Arv Autumn Winter 26 Collection

    The Roots
For Autumn Winter, Cavour looks to Norway’s cultural heritage for inspiration. Arv, meaning heritage, takes its cues from the landscapes and imagery of Norwegian National Romanticism, and from a longstanding tradition of making things with care, skill and purpose.
    The Inspirations
The collection draws particular inspiration from the work of Theodor Kittelsen, Adolph Tidemand and Hans Gude. Their paintings helped shape the visual identity of Norway in the nineteenth century, capturing a landscape that feels both familiar and monumental. Dense forests, open skies, rugged mountains and quiet stretches of water are rendered with a sense of atmosphere and place.

For Arv, these paintings provide more than a historical reference. They inform the colours of the collection.

Deep forest greens and earthy tones recall the darkness of Norway’s wooded landscapes. Soft and weathered greys are drawn from rock, mountain and glacier. Blues reflect the changing character of the ocean and the expansive northern sky. The resulting palette is natural and understated, with the depth and variation found in the landscape itself.
    The Principles
There is also a connection between the work of these artists and the principles of traditional tailoring. Both begin with an appreciation for materials, technique and patience. A painting by Kittelsen or Gude was not made to follow a passing fashion. Nor is a well-tailored Cavour garment.

Good tailoring is built around the same idea. The fabric, construction and cut all have a purpose. Details reveal themselves over time, while quality becomes more apparent through wear. A well-made jacket can remain relevant for decades, adapting to the person who wears it rather than being tied to a particular moment.
    The Philosophy
This is the idea behind Arv. The collection takes elements from the past without attempting to recreate it. Traditional tailoring is refined through a contemporary Cavour perspective, resulting in garments that feel appropriate today while retaining the qualities that have made classic clothing endure.

The Norwegian landscape has changed little in its fundamental character, just as the principles of good craftsmanship remain relevant. A forest, a mountain or a stretch of open water does not need to follow a trend to remain beautiful. The same can be said of a garment made properly.

Arv is therefore a collection about continuity. About things made with enough care to be kept, worn and appreciated for a long time.

    Arv Autumn Winter 26

Arv is Cavour's Autumn Winter collection, inspired by Norwegian National Romantic painting and the landscapes of forest, mountain and sea. Its colour palette and craftsmanship reflect a shared belief between artists and tailors, that quality is built to last, not to follow trends.
