Staff Favorites: Kevin
Having worked as a buyer for many years, I've always enjoyed fairly easy access to try new things. However, in recent years, I've found myself gravitating towards more conservative choices, often drawn to the subtle details within the so-called "boring" classics. For instance, I've long since abandoned the search for a year-round, perfect navy jacket. Instead, I now focus on curating the right navy jacket for every season. Time and again, I'm reminded of just how much I love a well-made navy jacket.
This season is no exception. One of my absolute favorites is the Double-Breasted Hopsack Model 3. I’m particularly fond of the fabric—it’s woven just loose enough to provide comfort, yet tight enough to maintain structure. The subtle woolen finish strikes the perfect balance between formal and casual. It pairs beautifully with a silk tie, and works equally well with a wool-cashmere blend or knit silk tie.
I must admit, the black single-breasted option has also caught my eye. But, in the end, the familiar allure of navy wins me over every time.

A grey flannel suit pairs effortlessly with a wide range of shirts and ties, offering a sophisticated yet relaxed look. Whether worn to the office or for more casual outings, it’s a dependable choice that exudes classic style and comfort.
For another seasonal suit, I continue to favor the classics, with a particular preference for a navy chalk stripe, made from a 360g wool and cashmere blend by the Italian mill Tollegno. While this look may flirt with "The Crown" cosplay, it’s one of those suits that, when worn with confidence, can look undeniably cool. Working in the fashion industry, I suppose I can afford to embrace a slightly theatrical flair. That said, I can just as easily envision this suit on an accomplished fifty-something name partner at a major law firm.
Given that the suit has such wide stripes, I’d keep the rest of the ensemble understated: a blue stripe shirt, a navy knit tie, and black calfskin oxfords.

Few things feel as crisp and invigorating as a brand new, freshly ironed shirt. Unfortunately, shirts tend to wear out much faster than suits or coats, requiring more frequent replacements. While a solid white shirt is a staple for formal occasions, the shirt I find myself reaching for most often is a light blue and white stripe. This season, I'm excited to introduce a beautiful reverse stripe to my collection—where blue is the dominant color against white stripes.
To the untrained eye, the difference might seem subtle, but for me, it makes all the difference, bringing a fresh and exciting twist to a classic look.
One of the pieces I’ve worn most frequently is our polo coat in a navy herringbone wool from Loro Piana. The belted back, buttoned split, and gauntlet cuffs add just the right amount of interest and flair. This season, we made a slight adjustment, extending the coat's length by 10 cm. Once again, we turned to Loro Piana for the fabric, choosing a lustrous dark brown and black herringbone. This new colorway makes the coat slightly less formal than its navy predecessor, yet still incredibly versatile.
I can already picture myself wearing it with cream selvedge denim, a black roll-neck sweater, and dark brown split-toe derbies, strolling contentedly towards my favorite pub on a Friday evening.
