Staff Favorites: Stian

Growing up with both American and Norwegian heritage, I've always had an affinity for the timeless elegance of classic Ivy Style. The Norwegian side of me, however, craves the comfort of heavier fabrics—especially given the long, cold winters we face. That's why the double-breasted flannel chalk stripe suit is a perfect match for my taste. Its conservative color palette serves as the ideal blank canvas, allowing endless possibilities when it comes to pairing with shirts and ties. Meanwhile, the soft, brushed cloth not only exudes refinement but also promises to keep me warm, stylishly navigating the harshest Norwegian winters.
"The depth of color and impeccable finish—hallmarks of Loro Piana's craftsmanship—are simply irresistible."
When it comes to jackets, my eye was instantly drawn to this striking navy blue piece with a subtle brown windowpane pattern. The depth of color and impeccable finish—hallmarks of Loro Piana's craftsmanship—are simply irresistible. What I love most is the versatility of these two colors. They seamlessly pair with a variety of trousers, from formal grey flannels and high twists to soft, earthy tones, and even my favorite selvedge jeans. A navy jacket is a timeless staple, and I’ll admit I already have more than a few in my wardrobe. But the brown windowpane adds a refined yet understated twist, making this one feel truly unique and undeniably stylish.
I choose the Mac coat for two standout qualities: its refined silhouette and its durable fabric. The coat’s length and clean lines make it perfect for formal wear, pairing effortlessly with a dark suit and brown suede oxfords. The fabric, heavy yet rugged, is ideal for the harsh Norwegian winters, providing warmth and resilience. Its subtle roughness not only adds character but also ensures the coat withstands snow and inclement weather without compromising its finish, making it as practical as it is elegant.
